The Student Central Executive Council (SCEC) has appointed Ilesanmi Jolaade, a 500-level Law student, as the first Attorney General of the Fountain University Students’ Association (FUSA) under its newly adopted constitution.
The appointment was announced on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, through an official statement released on the council’s WhatsApp platform.
The role of Attorney General is a newly operational position within the association’s governance structure, following the recent adoption of a revised constitution aimed at strengthening institutional processes.
As Attorney General, Jolaade is expected to serve as the chief legal adviser to the student government, providing guidance to the executive arm and ensuring that its actions align with constitutional provisions.
Speaking on the development, SCEC President Osuolale Hamed stated that the appointment became necessary.
“The Attorney General works closely with the SRC, so the position could only be filled after the council was constituted,” he said.
The appointment signals a step toward reinforcing constitutional compliance, accountability, and structured governance within the association.
