The newly elected members of the Student Representative Council (SRC) of Fountain University, Osogbo, were formally inaugurated by President Hammed A. Osuolale today in a well-organized ceremony that reinforced the institution’s commitment to effective student representation and governance.
The event opened with the Chief of Staff, Aboubakar Maisara Temilade introducing the program and inviting the Vice President to lead the opening prayer. The Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Busurat Oluwakemi Adekola followed with insightful opening remarks, charging the council members to uphold excellence, discipline, and accountability in the discharge of their duties.
As part of the formal proceedings, the Secretary-General called out the presidents of each department along with their representatives for official recognition, symbolizing the diversity and collective strength of the council.
A major highlight of the event was the official swearing-in of the SRC members, administered by the President of the Student Central Executive Council (SCEC), Hammed A. Osuolale . In his remarks, he congratulated the new leaders and urged them to serve with integrity, transparency, and a genuine commitment to student welfare.
The ceremony concluded with the closing prayer led by the Financial Secretary, Abdul-Mujeeb Mustapha, bringing the auspicious gathering to a peaceful end and signaling the commencement of a new era of student representation in the university.
With their inauguration complete, the SRC members are expected to begin their legislative and advocacy duties immediately as Fountain University continues to strengthen student governance structures.
